Former Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel Visits Gaushala Engineering College

Former Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, took a significant step towards realizing the vision of making Mahottari district an educational hub. In a recent visit to Gaushala Engineering College, a constituent campus of Rajarshi Janak University, he shared exciting news regarding the progress made in the field of education in the region.

In a statement, Pokharel expressed his satisfaction with the approval granted by the Nepal Engineering Council to Rajarshi Janak University’s Angik College Gaushala Engineering College for offering civil engineering courses with an initial capacity of 48 seats. This development marks a crucial milestone in the collective effort to transform Mahottari into a center for education.

Pokharel extended his congratulations to all those involved in the initiative, acknowledging their dedication and expressing well-wishes for the journey ahead. He emphasized the significance of the decision, stating that it paves the way for a new era of technical higher education in Mahottari.

During the observation at the Gaushala Engineering College, both the Vice-Chancellor of Rajarshi Janak University and the Campus Head of Gaushala Engineering College shared insights into the upcoming academic endeavors. The teaching of civil engineering is scheduled to commence immediately in the Tribhuvan Mabi of Gaushala.

Reflecting on his previous role as a minister, Pokharel recalled approving the teaching of civil engineering up to the 12th grade under CTEVT (Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training) at the request of the management committee of Tribhuvan Mavi. He also noted the presence of a model school in Gaushala.

Pokharel concluded by emphasizing the need for collective efforts to ensure both the delivery of quality education and the development of the college’s infrastructure. As Mahottari embarks on this educational journey, the focus remains on fostering harmony, providing opportunities for quality education, and building a strong foundation for future generations.
