Prof. Dr. Shyam Narayan Labh is a distinguished Nepali academic and zoologist with extensive experience in higher education, research, and university leadership. Before joining Rajarshi Janak University, he served as a Professor of Zoology at Tribhuvan University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, India, specializing in fish nutrition and aquatic biology. Throughout his academic career, he has contributed significantly to teaching, research, and scientific publications.

In July 2026, he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajarshi Janak University. As Vice-Chancellor, he is committed to enhancing academic excellence, promoting research and innovation, strengthening digital transformation, expanding international collaboration, and preserving Nepal’s cultural heritage while advancing quality higher education.
