Biography

Prof. Dr. Narendra Katuwal is a distinguished academician and researcher based in Nepal. He has made significant contributions to the field of education, economics, and research with a focus on rural development, agricultural and social sciences. He currently resides in Janakpur, where he serves as The Dean at Rajarsi Janak University, Janakpur, Madesh province. Educational Background Dr. Katuwal holds a PhD in Humanities and Social Science from Tribhuvan University, with his thesis focusing on “Tea Production in Ilam and Market Mechanism.” He completed his Master’s degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University in 2049, following his one-year B.Ed. in Economics Education and School Administration in 2048. Professional Experience With nearly three decades of teaching experience, Dr. Katuwal has held several key positions within academic institutions. His administrative roles include serving as the Assistant Campus Chief at, Ilam Campus, from 2060 to 2061, and then as Campus Chief from 2061 to 2065. During his tenure as Campus Chief, he facilitated agreements and approvals for significant development projects for the construction of classroom buildings and the approval of new academic programs. Dr. Katuwal worked with the Research Centre at Tribhuvan University, Kritipur, from 2065 to 2067, and has served as Head of the Department of Economics Education at M.R. Campus, Tahachal, from 2073 to 2079. Research and Publications Dr. Katuwal has an extensive portfolio of research and publications, with a focus on economics, agriculture, rural development and education. His work on tea production and organic farming in Nepal has been published in various international and national journals. In addition to research articles, Dr. Katuwal has authored several books in Nepali and English language, addressing topics such as economic analysis of the Nepalese tea industry, social and community development, and educational reforms. Contributions to Education Dr. Katuwal has actively contributed to educational development in Nepal through teaching, administrative roles, and research. He has been involved in initiatives to improve teacher preparation programs and has conducted workshops on enhancing quality in education through collaborations with international universities. Overall, Prof. Dr Narendra Katuwal is a respected figure in Nepal’s academic community, recognized for his contributions to the study of economics, agriculture, rural development and education, as well as for his leadership in academic administration.
